NOPD VOWS Unit Arrests Three Suspects in Separate Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault Incidents

NOPD VOWS Unit Arrests Three Suspects in Separate Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault Incidents

The NOPD Violent Offender’s Warrant Squad and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Office arrested three individuals this week in unrelated aggravated battery and aggravated assault incidents.

Officers apprehended Joshua Wilson (DOB:12/05/1992) for aggravated assault with a firearm, simple battery and simple criminal damage to property.

The incident happened on Thursday, May 24, 2018, in the 8700 block of Pritchard Place. The victim told police she was outside of her residence talking to her sister when she and Wilson were involved in an altercation, at which time the arrested subject became angry and began to physically attack the victim.

The victim’s sister tried to stop the fight and Wilson began to attack her as well. The subject then produced a handgun and struck the first victim in the face. The victim was able to get away from Wilson and ran to her front porch, where she observed the suspect pointing a handgun at her. The suspect then used the handgun to smash the windows in the victim’s vehicle, before fleeing the location.

Wilson was located on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, in the 2300 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard. Wilson was further arrested for possession of stolen property, vehicle burglary, possession of marijuana and drug law violations. He was transported to Central Lockup where he was booked accordingly.

In a separate incident in the Seventh District, the NOPD VOWS Unit and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Office arrested Grant Wilson (DOB: 11/06/1969) for aggravated assault with a knife and domestic abuse battery.

The incident happened on May 31, 2018. Wilson was in an altercation with the victim in the 6700 block of Bundy Road when he produced a knife. Wilson was located on Monday, June 18, 2018, and was transported to Central Lockup where he was booked accordingly. A photo of Grant Wilson is unavailable.

The NOPD VOWS Unit and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Office also arrested Ricky Stewart (DOB: 05/19/1993) for aggravated assault with a firearm and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

The incident occurred on Friday, June 1, 2018, near the intersection of Read and Lake Forest Boulevards. Stewart pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle, produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The suspect reportedly threatened the victim before fleeing the scene.

Stewart was located on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, in the 2700 block of Clover Street. He was transported to Central Lockup where he was booked accordingly. A photo of Ricky Stewart is unavailable.
