The NOPD is seeking assisting in locating and identifying a suspect wanted in an aggravated assault with a firearm that occurred on June 19, 2018 in the 1900 block of Newton Street.

The victim told police that an unknown black male who frequents the Brothers gas station entered on the date of the incident. The victim said the subject appeared to be inebriated and was attempting to purchase beer with his debit card. The subject allegedly did not remember his personal identification number, and the transaction was declined. At that point, the subject reportedly became angry and yelled at a cashier. The victim said he attempted to speak to the subject to calm him down when the subject allegedly began cursing at the victim and cashier as he exited the store. The victim said the subject walked to a car and allegedly produced a handgun and pointing it at the store, causing customers and employees to seek cover. The subject then entered the vehicle and fled the scene, driving northbound on Behrman Highway.

The subject is described as a black male wearing a black short-sleeved T-shirt and light blue pants. He is further described as bald headed and wearing glasses.
