NOPD Arrests Suspect in Simple Rape of Juvenile

The NOPD has arrested Leander Journee (DOB: 11-21-1981) in connection with a simple rape of a juvenile that reportedly occurred on June 11, 2018.

The NOPD’s Special Victims Section Child Abuse Unit was contacted on June 13 about an alleged aggravated rape that had occurred on June 11 inside of a residence in the 6200 block of Waldo Drive involving a female juvenile victim.

Through the course of the investigation, Journee was identified as the perpetrator in the incident and a warrant was obtained for his arrest.

Journee was arrested on June 19 and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for third-degree rape.
