COPS 4 Organization Seeks New Members to Support Fourth District Police Officers

For the last six years, the COPS 4 organization has held many fundraising and community events that have enhanced the effectiveness and morale of the officers in the Fourth District, and the organization is now seeking more community support to assist in future efforts.

“We are so appreciative of the work that COPS 4 has done for the Fourth District and continues to do for us every day”, said Fourth District Commander Ceasar Ruffin. “Our officers are often surprised by the special treats and necessary equipment COPS 4 provides to us, and it’s great to know that we can depend on the people that are a part of our community."

COPS 4 also recognizes officers in a supervisory capacity each quarter by providing officers with an award and assisting with a number of events and community initiatives like the annual Christmas party, garden planting at the station, purchasing digital cameras and new DVRs for detectives and the station's security system. Recently, COPS 4 assisted with the repair of the Fourth District’s police bicycles and scooters so that officers could get back to increasing patrols in the area.

Participation in COPS 4 provides an opportunity for community interaction with our officers as well as an opportunity for residents to receive crime updates and develop relationships with the different officers in the district.

There are four levels of memberships, ranging from $25 to $250. One hundred percent of the funds raised through COPS 4 are used exclusively for the Fourth District.
