NOPD Seeks Public’s Assistance Identifying Suspects in Aggravated Assault with a Firearm Investigation

NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two unknown suspects wanted in connection with an aggravated assault with a firearm investigation in the Fifth District.

On Monday, June 1, 2026, at approximately 11:10 a.m., officers responded to an incident in the 2400 block of North Johnson Street. During the investigation, detectives learned that the pictured suspects allegedly removed tools belonging to the victim from a work truck.

When the victim confronted the suspects and attempted to recover the stolen property, the unknown subject in the tan shirt produced a small handgun, racked the slide, and pointed the firearm at the victim. The suspects then fled the area before officers arrived.

The suspects are described as two Black male juveniles, approximately 16 years of age, both wearing backpacks at the time of the incident. They were last seen in the area of Elysian Fields Avenue and North Rocheblave Street.

Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of these suspects is urged to contact Fifth District detectives at 504-658-6050 or CrimeStoppers of Greater New Orleans anonymously at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP (7867).
