The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (June 12, 2024) in the 10800 block of Chef Menteur Highway that left an adult female victim deceased.

At about 3:59 p.m., NOPD officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location. Officers quickly arrived to the scene and located an adult female unresponsive in a parking lot of a business and having sustained a gunshot wound (s). The victim was declared deceased on scene.

Officers also quickly detained an adult female person of interest for questioning in the incident.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available. Updates will be provided as further information becomes available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death.
