NOPD Investigating Homicide in Eighth District

NOPD Investigating Homicide in Eighth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred in the early hours today (June 22, 2024) in the 600 block of Bourbon Street and left one victim deceased.

At about 4:07 a.m., NOPD officers responded to a call of a shooting at the intersection of Toulouse and Bourbon streets. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male gunshot wound victim on scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available. Updates will be provided as further information becomes available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death.
