NOPD Identifies Additional Suspects Wanted for Fighting at High School Graduation

The NOPD has obtained arrest warrants for Sjanitta Egana (pictured at left, black female, DOB: 12-10-1983) and Jaci Egana (pictured at right, black female, DOB: 12-27-2003) in the ongoing investigation into an incident that occurred at the George Washington Carver High School graduation ceremony on May 20, 2022, in the 7900 block of Stroelitz Street.

At approximately 11:42 a.m. on May 20, a large melee occurred between several large groups during the ceremony, which took place on the campus of Xavier University. One subject found to be in illegal possession of a firearm was arrested on scene and booked accordingly.

Through further investigation that included witness interviews, information from school officials and video evidence, NOPD Second District detective positively identified Sjanitta and Jaci Egana as perpetrators in this incident. Both suspects are wanted for disturbing the peace by engaging in a fistic encounter.
