NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Homicide Investigation

On June 23, 2021, the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals arrested Sharod Williams (pictured, black male, DOB: 05-01-1985) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on April 30, 2021 in the 1100 block of Verret Street.

At about 7:54 a.m., NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Williams as the perpetrator in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of second-degree murder.

NOPD VOWS and U.S. Marshals located Williams today and took him into custody without incident. He was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center accordingly.
