NOPD Invites Residents to Second District Meet-and-Greet

Members of the Second District are invited to attend a meet-and-greet with the newly appointed Second District Commander Jeffrey Walls.

Commander Walls joined the NOPD in 1997. Prior to becoming the commander of the Second District, he oversaw police services for the Lakeview, Gentilly and West End neighborhoods. His NOPD career includes stints as Commander of the Eighth District, Sixth District DIU Commander and overseeing the district’s homicide unit.

Commander Walls has received several letters of commendation, a medal of achievement and two medals of commendation. He has an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Bishop State Community College (AL), a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Loyola University – New Orleans and a master’s degree in Homeland Security from Tulane University.

The meet-and-greet is scheduled to take place on June 25, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the Second District Police Station located at 3401 Broadway Street.

All residents are encouraged to attend this event to learn more about Commander Walls and his exceptional history with the NOPD.

"It has been and will continue to be an honor to serve the citizens of New Orleans. Having previously worked as a Task Force Officer and a Detective in the Second District I am excited to be back. I am looking forward to working with the residents of the Second District to address their needs and concerns,” Walls said.
