NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred early this morning (June 15).
At approximately 1:15 a.m., a verbal altercation ensued between two subjects in the 200 block of Decatur Street. The altercation turned physical and moved to the 300 block of Decatur. Onlookers were able to break up the fight but the victim discovered she had been stabbed. The perpetrator then fled the scene.
The 21-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital where she later expired.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office releases victims’ names and causes of death.
