NOPD Arrests Suspect in Homicide on Chef Menteur

NOPD Arrests Suspect in Homicide on Chef Menteur

The NOPD has arrested Elliot Peters (DOB: 7/15/1999) in connection with the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Damian Crockem Jr, which occurred on June 13, 2017 in the 9300 block of Chef Menteur Highway. 

 

At around 12:40 a.m., Seventh District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered Damian Crockem Jr suffering from gunshot wounds outside of a parking lot. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

 

As the investigation progressed, detectives were able to positively identify Peters as the perpetrator.

 

Special Operations Division’s Vows Unit tracked Peters today (June 24) to the 3900 block of Baronne.

 

Peters was booked into Central Lockup on a charge of second-degree murder.
