NOPD Seeking Vehicle of Interest in Hit-and-Run Fatality Investigation

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating a vehicle of interest and its occupant(s) at the time in its investigation of a hit-and-run traffic fatality that occurred on July 3, 2026, in the 5400 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

At about 3:50 a.m. on July 3, passing motorists reported observing the victim unresponsive, injured and lying in the middle of a westbound travel lane on the Danziger Bridge. The victim’s injuries, along with evidence at the scene, led detectives to determine that the victim had been struck by a passing vehicle. The victim was subsequently declared deceased on scene.

Through investigation, NOPD Traffic Fatality Unit detectives determined that the pictured white Nissan Armada SUV was traveling westbound on the Danziger Bridge near the time frame when the pedestrian is believed to have been struck. Detectives are seeking the vehicle and to question the vehicle’s owner/operator and any subjects who may have been in the vehicle at the time of this incident.

Anyone with additional information that can assist in this investigation is urged to contact NOPD Traffic Fatality Unit District detectives at 504-658-6205. Those wishing to report information anonymously can do so by calling Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
