NOPD Investigating Homicide in Fifth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred on July 7, 2026, at the intersection of North Rocheblave and Allen streets, in the Fifth District.

At about 8:13 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers received a report of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male gunshot wound victim inside of a vehicle at the location. The victim was subsequently declared deceased on scene. The incident was then reclassified as a homicide.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No arrests have been made as of this writing. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the deceased victim and determine the official cause of death following notification of family members and completion of an autopsy.
