The NOPD has arrested a 20-year-old Slidell man in connection with a fatal hit & run on July 27, 2025 on Interstate 10 in New Orleans East.
Just before 10:00 p.m. on the date, a two vehicle crash was reported near the Read Boulevard exit on I-10 Eastbound that left the driver of a Mazda 626 dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the driver of the Mazda, a 53-year-old woman, was possibly stopped in the roadway or experiencing trouble when the driver of a Mercedes Benz rear-ended the Mazda causing the Mercedes to go airborne and then crash into a concrete guardrail. The then driver fled on foot.
Today, (July 30, 2025) that driver, Dyllan Parr, (white male DOB:06/20/2005) of Slidell, turned himself into NOPD accompanied by his attorney.
He was arrested and charged with R.S.14:100 relative to hit and run with serious injury or death after being interviewed and allegedly admitting he struck the Mazda and fled the scene.
Parr was booked accordingly into the Orleans Justice Center.
