NOPD Arrests Suspects in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD has arrested a 15-year-old juvenile black male and Roderick Matthews (black male, DOB: 03-16-1994) In the investigation of a homicide that occurred on July 15, 2022, in the 8300 block of Nelson Street.

At about 8:21 a.m. on July 15, NOPD Second District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult male subject having sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene and the incident was reclassified as a homicide.

On July 18, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 24-year-old Conrad Noble and determined cause of death to be via gunshot wound.

Through further investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified both the juvenile male and Matthews as the perpetrators in this incident and obtained arrest warrants for each on one count of second-degree murder. Both suspects have been arrested and booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center. The two were also charged with one count each of armed robbery in connection with a separate incident.
