NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Sixth District Homicide

On July 26, 2019, members of the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals arrested Lamont Reed (DOB: 06-06-1994) in the investigation of the homicide of 25-year-old Davante Robertson that occurred on June 24, 2019 in the 2800 block of Clara Street.

Sixth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting around 8:34 p.m. in the 2800 block of Clara Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult black male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim died at the scene.

On June 26, 2019, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Robertson.

As investigation into the incident progressed, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed Reed as a suspect and were able to positively identify him as the perpetrator. Detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for Reed for second degree murder.

Reed was located and arrested at a residence in Picayune, Mississippi.
