NOPD Investigates Homicide on Clouet Street

NOPD Investigates Homicide on Clouet Street

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that claimed the life of an adult male victim.

At around 9:34 p.m., Fifth District officers received a call related to a medical incident at the intersection of Clouet and North Galvez Streets. Once on scene, officers discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest in the 2200 block of Clouet Street. The victim was transported to the hospital by EMS.

The victim later died from his injuries at the hospital.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
