NOPD Arrests Suspect in 2017 Homicide on Ford Street

The NOPD and U.S. Marshals have arrested Kevin Foots (DOB: 04-02-1986) in connection with the homicide of Terrance Johnson that occurred on July 13, 2017 in the 3900 block of Ford Street.

Johnson told police that at about 12:12 a.m., he was travelling in a vehicle southbound in the area when he heard gunshots coming from a passing vehicle. Johnson told police he discovered he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his side and was transported to a local hospital by EMS for treatment. As investigation into the incident progressed, detectives were able to positively identify Foots as the perpetrator and obtain a warrant for his arrest.

On August 3, 2017, Johnson died while hospitalized, at which time the incident was reclassified as a homicide.

Foots was located on July 30 at a residence in the 100 block of Airport Road in Ama, La. He was arrested by members of the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and U.S. Marshals.

Foots will be booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for second degree murder.
