Officers Arrest two for Possession of Marijuana and a Stolen Firearm

NOPD arrested Eugene Johnson (DOB: 2/17/1993) and Jerry Weber (DOB: 6/4/1989) for aggravated assault, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of marijuana.

On July 9, 2017, at approximately 12:21 a.m., Seventh District detectives Curtis Barre and Terrance Davis responded to a call of an aggravated assault involving a black Nissan Sentra near Downman Road and Chef Menteur Highway. The victim stated that an unknown black male pointed a gun at him while the victim’s vehicle was stopped at a red light on Chef Menteur Highway.

While driving to the scene the detectives spotted a vehicle that matched the description of the suspects’ car and license plate number. The detectives conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle, and Johnson and Weber were identified as the perpetrators of the aggravated assault.

The two suspects were also found to be in possession of marijuana and a silver and black 9mm handgun with 12 live copper rounds that had been reported stolen. Johnson and Weber were arrested and transported to Central Lockup.
