The NOPD is investigating a homicide tonight (Jan. 22) near the intersection of Amelia Street and La Salle Street.
At about 8:22 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to a call of an unresponsive black male lying on the sidewalk on Amelia Street near its intersection with La Salle Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation into this incident is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
