NOPD Identifies Suspect in Armed Robbery on Chartres

NOPD Identifies Suspect in Armed Robbery on Chartres

NOPD has identified Mario Marrero (DOB: 8/30/1994) as the perpetrator in an armed robbery that took place on Chartres Street.

 

On September 20, 2016, the victim reported that he was riding his bicycle on Chartres when he was approached by an armed black male at Franklin Avenue. The unknown male demanded the victim’s wallet and the he complied. The suspect then fled the scene in a dark colored vehicle.

 

Through further investigation, NOPD identified Marrero as the perpetrator in this incident.

Armed Robbery

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
