The NOPD has arrested two suspects in connection with a New Year's Day homicide that claimed one life.
On January 1, 2025, at about 7:20 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 8500 block of North I-10 Service Road. Upon arrival they discovered an unresponsive male subject. EMS arrived and transported the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The Orleans Parish Coroner identified the victim as 19-year-old Kayron Hall.
Through investigation, detectives positively identified a 15-year-old juvenile and Caine Moore, Black male, DOB: 3-29-2006 as the perpetrators of this crime.
On Thursday January 16, 2025, the juvenile was arrested on Dwyer Road in the Seventh District by members of NOPD's Violent Offender Warrant Squad along with the Federal Fugitive Task Force. He was booked into the Orleans Juvenile Justice Center on charges of second degree murder.
On Friday January 17, 2025, Caine Moore was subsequently arrested by members of NOPD's Violent Offender Warrant Squad along with the Federal Fugitive Task Force. He was booked into the Orleans Justice Center on charges of second degree murder.
