NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect for Jan. 1 Homicide Incident

On January 17, 2023, the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals arrested James Moliere (black male, DOB: 09-14-1979) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on January 1, 2023, in the 1600 block of Clio Street.

At about 4:03 a.m., NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male subject who has sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased.

On January 3, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as 30-year-old Clark Bowdry and determined cause of death to be from gunshot wounds.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Moliere as the perpetrator of this incident. An arrest warrant was obtained on one count of second-degree murder.

On January 17, Molliere surrendered to law enforcement at the Orleans Parish Justice Center. He was arrested and booked accordingly.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
