UPDATE:  The NOPD is requesting the public’s assistance in locating and identifying two persons of interest in a homicide that occurred today (January 3, 2021) in the 7000 block of Morrison Road. 

The pictured unidentified subjects are NOT wanted, however are needed for questioning in the investigation.

NEW ORLEANS - The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (January 3, 2021) in the 7000 block of Morrison Road in the Seventh District.

At around 5:36 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers were called to the location for a vehicle accident with injury.  Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman suffering with a gunshot wound(s) in her car. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.  The initial investigation has revealed that the victim was driving eastbound in the 7000 block of Morrison Road when she was approached by an armed suspect and struck by gunfire.  It is believed the victim drove away and crashed into another vehicle in the 7200 block of Morrison Road before coming to a stop further down the street. 

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.  No additional details are currently available. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
