Criminal Justice System Agencies Meet to Enhance Communication

The Orleans Parish Criminal Justice system is making efforts to improve crime fighting by enhancing communication between agencies.  This afternoon the following agency leaders met as part of an effort to enhance public safety.

  • Chief Judge of Criminal District Court, Karen Herman
  • Chief Judge of Juvenile Court, Candace Bates-Anderson
  • Orleans Parish District Attorney, Jason Williams
  • Orleans Parish Public Defender, Derwyn Bunton
  • New Orleans Criminal Justice Commissioner, Tenisha Stevens
  • New Orleans Police Superintendent, Shaun Ferguson
  • The Orleans Parish Clerk of Courts

The participants recognize that improving communication between agencies in the Criminal Justice System is the way to improve efficiency.

All participants considered today’s virtual meeting, hosted by NOPD, a success and a significant move in the right direction towards improving public safety.

Today’s meeting is the first, of what is expected to be, a series of monthly meetings.
