Suspect Wanted for Aggravated Battery on Linden Street

The NOPD Seventh District officers are searching for Daphne Hampton (DOB: 12-10-1984), who is wanted for her involvement in an aggravated assault incident that occurred on Tuesday, (Jan. 9).

The incident happened in the 1400 block of Linden Street just before 7 a.m. The victim told police he and the pictured suspect were involved in a verbal argument that turned violent. The suspect went into the kitchen to grab a knife and stabbed the victim twice in his left leg. The victim was able to exit the residence to call the police.

The suspect left the location with three of her children in a 2001 red Jeep Cherokee. The suspect then arrived back at the residence and attempted to run over the victim twice with her vehicle. The victim jumped over a fence to avoid being struck by the vehicle. The suspect reportedly exited the vehicle with a knife in her hand and threatened to “get him”. The suspect then got into her vehicle and left the location for good.

The victim was transported to an area hospital prior to being arrested for warrants pertaining to a previous domestic home invasion.
