NOPD Arrests Juvenile in Fourth District Homicide

The NOPD has made an arrest in a Fourth District homicide.

 

On Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 11:58 a.m., the victim was standing in the parking lot of an apartment complex located in the 3600 block of Garden Oaks Drive.

 

He was approached by the perpetrator, later identified as a juvenile (DOB: 7/3/2002), who produced a gun and began shooting the victim.

 

The juvenile then fled the scene on foot. The victim died at the scene.

 

Through the course of the investigation, conducted by Fourth District officers and the NOPD Homicide Division, the suspect was identified and was later arrested on scene.

 

The subject is a known juvenile who was later booked for the homicide.

 

The juvenile in this incident was charged with second-degree murder and was also booked with illegal carrying of a gun and possession of a stolen firearm.
