NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD arrested Mango Williams of Harvey, Louisiana for illegal carrying of a firearm in the Fourth District on February 10, 2020.
At around 9 a.m., officers patrolling around the 3600 block of General DeGaulle noticed Williams sitting in his car and emptying tobacco from a cigar leaf onto the ground. When officers approached the vehicle, they detected a marijuana odor emanating from the car.
After conducting an investigatory stop, officers found a .380 caliber Ruger with obliterated serial numbers on the floor. In addition, officers also confiscated about three grams of marijuana located inside of the car.
Williams was arrested and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center and booked accordingly.
