New Orleans - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred today in the Sixth District.
Shortly before 12:55 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of Saint Andrew and Saint Thomas Street. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male laying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.
New Orleans Emergency Medical Services pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is currently available.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
