NOPD Arrests Suspect for Attempted Second Degree Murder Moments After Shooting

The NOPD has arrested Darren Taylor, DOB: 10-01/1983, for attempted second-degree murder moments after a shooting incident in the Sixth District.

On February 22, 2023, Taylor allegedly entered a business in the 2300 block of Tchoupitoulas and fired multiple shots at employees inside.  Shortly after, Sixth District officers and detectives were able to locate and apprehend Taylor after a brief foot chase.

He was charged with attempted second degree murder as well as aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to property with a firearm, illegal carrying of a weapon, and illegal use of a weapon.
