NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals, Probation & Parole Arrest Suspects in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad, U.S. Marshals and Louisiana Probation and Parole today (February 21, 2022) arrested a 16-year-old juvenile black male (not pictured) and Brandon R. Hamilton (pictured, black male, DOB: 01-25-2002)in the investigation of a homicide on February 18, 2022 in the 2100 block of Cobblestone Lane.

Shortly before 7:00 a.m. on February 18, NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a reported shooting at the location. Upon their arrival, officers located a male victim inside of an apartment and having sustained an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.

Through the course of investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified both Hamilton and the juvenile male as suspects in this incident and obtained arrest warrants for each suspect.

Both suspects were located today at separate locations in the Fourth District, where they were arrested without incident.

The juvenile suspect was booked into the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center on a charge of second-degree murder, while Hamilton was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for principle to second-degree murder and for violation of probation.
