NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Homicide Investigation

NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals today arrested Tyrese Carter (pictured, black male, DOB: 01-23-2003) in the investigation of a homicide on January 26, 2022 in the 3800 block of Texas Drive.

At about 9:26 p.m. on January 26, NOPD Fourth District detectives responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 3700 block of Garden Oaks Drive. Through further investigation, the location of occurrence was determined to be the 3800 block of Texas Drive. A male victim was found to have sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Carter as the perpetrator in this incident. Carter is wanted on one count of second-degree murder.

Today, Carter surrendered to NOPD VOWS and the U.S. Marshals and was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on one count of second-degree murder.
