Person of Interest Sought in Third District Theft Incident

The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in locating Travis Washington (DOB: 03/11/1988), who is believed to have valuable information regarding a Third District theft incident.

The victim told police that on January 10, 2019, he was inside his residence located in the 300 block of 10th Street when he heard the noise of grinding metal outside the residence.

The victim reportedly went to investigate the noise and observed an unknown male subject underneath his vehicle using a saw to cut away the vehicle’s catalytic converter from the exhaust system.

The victim reportedly confronted the subject, who stated that his neighbor told him that the vehicle was abandoned and that he could take spare parts from it. The subject then fled the scene in possession of the victim’s catalytic converter.

The perpetrator is described as a black male, 6’1 tall, thin build, with a twisted goatee. He was last seen driving a four door white sedan, bearing Louisiana license plate #765BYZ.

Travis is not wanted for this incident. However, investigators would like to interview the subject for more information.

Anyone that can help Third District detectives locate the subject should call 504-658-6030. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
