NOPD Arrests Suspect in Shooting, Robbery on LeBoeuf Street

The NOPD has arrested Michael Allen (DOB: 11-27-1986) in connection with a shooting and robbery that occurred on January 28, 2019 in the 700 block of LeBoeuf Street.

Through investigation, NOPD Fourth District detectives determined that at about 9:40 p.m., Allen was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim. During this altercation, Allen allegedly produced a firearm and shot the victim multiple times. The subject reportedly then placed the firearm inside his vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Shortly after the shooting occurred, Allen then allegedly approached an unknown female at the bus stop and snatched the victim’s phone out of her hand, forced her to walk with him and demanded more property. Allen was apprehended shortly after the incident.

A search warrant was executed on Allen's vehicle, at which time four fully loaded firearms were recovered from the vehicle. One of the firearms was reported to have been stolen from Vidalia, La.

Allen was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for aggravated battery by shooting, simple robbery, simple kidnapping, simple battery and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040.
