WATCH: NOPD Officers Surprise Band Students with New Equipment before Peak of Mardi Gras

NOPD Sgt. Gregory Johnson and Officer James Caire, who have been featured on national outlets for their work and service on and off the job, was contacted by a viewer who offered to purchase brand new equipment for their band students at McDonogh 35 Senior High School.

Both officers, who are also brothers, have volunteered their time for the last three to five years teaching students who play percussion instruments and participate in the school's color guard team. The anonymous donor purchased a total of 20 gold helmets and 32 drum heads for members of the band.
