NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that took place in the 1800 block of Magnolia Street.
Today, (Feb. 14), at around 10:33 a.m., Sixth district officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Magnolia Street to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male lying on the ground in the driveway of a neighborhood corner store. The victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s) to the head. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and official cause of death.
