Multiple Suspects Wanted in Carjacking Incident

NOPD officers in the Third District are searching for three subjects who are wanted in connection with a carjacking that happened in the 2900 block of Powhattan Street.

The incident occurred on Saturday, February 17, 2018, just before 1 p.m. The victim told police he was vacuuming out the inside of his 2010 white Toyota Corolla when three unknown males approached him and asked for directions.

One of the subjects threw the victim to the ground and jumped into the driver seat of the vehicle bearing Louisiana handicapped license plate #H359391. The other two subjects jumped into the vehicle and fled the scene.

The perpetrator in this incident is described as a heavy set male, wearing black jeans and a striped shirt. The other two suspects are described as slim males, in their early 20s and dressed in dark clothing.

Carjacking

Louisiana law states that Individuals convicted of carjacking shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than two years and for not more than 20 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
