Teens Rob, Assault Man for Cellphone on South Carrollton

A man was hit in the head and robbed of his cellphone by five teenagers this morning (Feb. 16).

The victim reported he was walking along South Carrollton Avenue at approximately 3 a.m. when he was approached by five unknown black males. One of the five demanded his phone and another went through his pockets. When he resisted, one of the teens struck him on the back of his head with a bat and another one took his phone. The five suspects then fled the scene on foot.

The victim then walked to a business in the 2400 block of South Carrollton and an employee requested police assistance from an officer who was inside the store.

The suspects are described as young teenagers and three of the five were wearing ski masks.
