NOPD Investigating a Fatal Stabbing on Clara Street

NOPD Investigating a Fatal Stabbing on Clara Street

The NOPD is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred today (February 19, 2017) in the 4600 block of Clara Street.

At about 7:51 a.m., Second District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by cutting in the area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male victim was involved in a physical altercation with a known male. The victim was later found lying on the ground in the 2800 block of Upperline Street and suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest. The victim was transported via EMS to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
