NOPD Investigates Two Homicides on Dryades, St. Andrew

The NOPD is investigating two homicides that happened within blocks of one another in the Sixth District tonight (Feb. 10)

 

At 6:07 p.m. officers responded to a call of multiple shooting victims in the 2500 block of Dryades Street. Upon arrival officers found four black males and two black females suffering from gunshot wounds.  All six were transported to the hospital. One of the victims, a 37-year-old female, was shot inside her residence and she later expired at the hospital. Witnesses reported seeing two black males shooting at the victims from a black sedan. They then fled the scene.

 

At 7:26 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to a call of shots fired inside a business in the 500 block of St. Andrew Street. Upon arrival they found a black male suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.Witnesses reported that the unknown black male entered the store and attempted to rob it at gunpoint. Another customer in the store produced a firearm and fired at the unknown male and striking him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The shooter and both firearms have been taken into custody.
