NOPD Arrests Suspect for Multiple Residential Burglaries

The NOPD has arrested Curtis Ray Greer (DOB: 2/6/1979) for a number of residential burglaries in the Second District.

 

On February 22, 2017, at approximately 11:58 a.m., Second District officers responded to a call of burglary at a residence in the 5800 block of Laurel Street.  Responding officers soon located the suspect in the 5400 block of Camp Street where he was taken into custody.  The arrested suspect, later identified as Greer, was in possession of items stolen from the Laurel Street residence along with items that were taken from a burglary reported in the 5200 block of Annunciation Street.  He was also carrying a backpack containing burglary tools, narcotics and brass knuckles.

 

Greer confessed to his involvement in the Laurel Street burglary as well as additional burglaries in the area.  He was charged with burglary for each of the Laurel Street and Annunciation Street incidents and attempted burglary for an incident in the 5900 block of Tchoupitoulas. Greer was also charged with assault, battery, illegal carrying of weapons by manner of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a concealed weapon, and illegal possession of a controlled substance while in possession of a dangerous weapon. He was also wanted on a fugitive warrant from Jefferson Parish.
