The New Orleans Police Department’s Traffic Fatality Section is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred today (December 18, 2025), shortly before 8:36 a.m., in the 4700 block of Eastview Drive in the Seventh District.

According to investigators, Seventh District officers were notified of a hit-and-run crash at the location. Upon arrival, officers observed that a vehicle had lost control for unknown reasons and struck a tree. No other vehicles were involved.

The vehicle was occupied by three individuals: an 18-year-old Black male driver, a 15-year-old Black male, and a 16-year-old Black female.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported all three occupants to a local hospital for treatment. The 16-year-old female juvenile was later pronounced deceased. The 18-year-old driver remains in critical condition, while the 15-year-old male juvenile is listed in stable condition.

The investigation remains active and ongoing and is being led by Detective Michael Baldassaro of the NOPD Traffic Fatality Section.
