Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating a Homicide that left one Black male dead. The offense occurred shortly before 3:51 a.m. in the 8500 block of Chef Menteur Highway.
According to investigators, Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shooting and upon their arrival, the officers located the victim lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Emergency Medical Technicians arrived on the scene and pronounced the man dead.
Detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible for the Homicide and a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim and conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
