New Orleans Police quickly arrested a suspect in separate homicide and shooting incidents. 

Arrested is Lance Daniel Dodd, Black male, DOB 06/16/1987.

According to investigators, a shooting incident occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m. on December 16, 2025 in the 3200 block of Trafalgar Street.  The adult male victim was transported to hospital by New Orleans EMS.   

A homicide occurred shortly before 1:40 p.m. on December 16, 2025 in the 3000 block of Belfort Street. The adult male victim was transported to hospital via EMS and later confirmed as being deceased. 

Through investigation, detectives identified Lance Daniel Dodd as the suspect in both incidents. Arrest warrants were obtained for Lance Daniel Dodd on charges of second degree murder, aggravated battery by shooting, and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Dodd was arrested in the 2700 block of Lapeyrouse Street and transported to Central Lockup for booking.
