The NOPD is investigating a shooting that left a 29-year-old male dead in the 300 block of Julia Street this morning (December 27, 2022), Around 8:40 a.m. Eighth district officers responded to a report of shots fired at the location.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
NOPD detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible as well as a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine official cause of death and release the victims’ names upon completion of autopsy and notification of families.
