The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the Third District.
Around 5:44pm p.m. on December 16, 2022, a call for service came out for a traffic accident at the intersection of Old Gentilly Road and Providence Place.
Arriving officers discovered a 20-year old male gunshot wound victim behind the wheel of a vehicle at the location.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine official cause of death and release the victims’ names upon completion of autopsy and notification of families.
Homicide Detective Stephanie Gray is leading the ongoing investigation.
