Members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Homicide Section are investigating the shooting death of a 19-year-old male, 19-year-old female, and the shooting of a 17-year-old female, 18-year-old female, and two 18-year-old males. The offense occurred shortly after 12:30 A.M., in the 2000 block of St. Maurice Street.
According to investigators, Fifth District officers responded to a call of a shooting, and upon their arrival, officers located four victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to their bodies. Emergency Medical Technicians pronounced the 19-year-old male and 19-year-old female dead on the scene. The two 18-year-old males were transported to a local hospital via Emergency Medical Services. The 17-year-old female and 18-year-old female were transported to a local hospital via private conveyance.
Homicide detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible for the Homicide and a motive.
Homicide Detective Jameson Diesburg is in charge of the investigation.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victims and conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
