NOPD Seeking Suspect, Person of Interest in Homicide Investigation

NOPD Seeking Suspect, Person of Interest in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a suspect and a person of interest in the ongoing investigation of a homicide on September 20, 2021 in the 4300 block of Tchoupitoulas Street.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives have positively identified Jessie Hughes (pictured at left, black male, DOB: 10-23-1989) as a suspect in this incident and have obtained an arrest warrant for Hughes for one count of second-degree murder.

Detectives have also developed the unknown male pictured at right as a person of interest in this investigation. The subject is not currently wanted on criminal charges. However, detectives feel he has knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to identify and interview him.
