NOPD Makes Quick Arrest in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD has arrested Desmond Douglas (pictured, black male, DOB: 02-27-1988) in connection with a homicide that occurred on December 10, 2021 in the 7000 block of Bullard Avenue.

Upon their arrival, Emergency Medical Technicians found the unknown adult male unresponsive and suffering from apparent trauma to his face. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Desmond Douglas Jr. (B/M DOB: 2/27/1988) was arrested today (Dec. 11, 2021) for second-degree murder after an arrest warrant was obtained.

A photograph of Douglas was circulated internally within NOPD. A Seventh District officer was on patrol and located Douglas after identifying him through the photo.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim’s name upon completion of autopsy and notification of family members.
